The New York City high-rise, deemed at risk of collapsing Tuesday, has 44 prior complaints against it, including allegations that a worker was blowing material off the roof, according to the city's Department of Buildings.
The 37-story Manhattan building was under construction when two support columns on the 21st floor buckled. Engineers are developing plans to reinforce the structure.
What to Know The FDNY said it got a call around 8 a.m. about bricks falling from the building at 235 East 42nd Street, between Second and Third avenues. The NYPD says it got a 911 call about the incident less than 15 minutes later.
